Indie developer Wyrmkeep Entertainment is requesting your support in making Inherit the Earth: Sand and Shadows a reality. Funding an adventure game through the “usual” channels can be quite difficult, and this is not the type of game most big game companies are looking to publish or even know how to market.

With your help, Wyrmkeep will have the freedom to create the game it believes adventure gamers are seeking.

The first game, Quest for the Orb, finds Rif the Fox being accused of stealing an ancient human relic known as the Orb of Storms. He’s innocent, and is able to convince the authorities that he has the skills to find the actual thief. In the company of two guards, Rif embarks on a quest to do so.

Although Rif is eventually able to prove his innocence, the Orb is apparently lost.

The Morph Tribes of the Known Lands continue their efforts to live with the loss of the Orb, which they used to predict the weather. There are rumors of the artifact’s survival, but none is credible. Even Rif doubts these rumors.

The arrival of a chieftess’ daughter with a startling revelation leads Rif to embark on a new adventure to learn the truth – assuming he can avoid the doubts of friends, threats of foes and the ravages of a great drought.

Wyrmkeep expects development to take approximately nine months from the date the project is successfully funded. The game will be released in English plus other languages depending on Stretch Goals met. Additional platforms may also be added.

A Kickstarter campaign is in progress until August 19, 2014. Wyrmkeep would appreciate your support.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
