The Weird Story of Waldemar, the Warlock is a humorous and horrific point-and-click adventure game. The player gets to step into the shoes of Lord Alistair Ainswoth, a victorian British aristocrat who spends his time sticking his long nose into anything with a whiff of the paranormal or occult.

Accompanied by his loyal butler Nigel, he leaves London behind and relocates to the remote region of Groldavia in order to start an in situ research of a legendary necromancer who ruled the realm centuries ago. With the work he intends to publish on the subject , he hopes to finally achieve the fame and recognition that has always been denied him, has always been just beyond his grasp.

Therefore, he pours all of his energy and resolve into this book, but on his quest to unravel the mystery of the infamous warlock he will have to face down challenges much more sinister and formidable than the fear of the blank page…

The game features detailed illustrations as backgrounds and stunning 3d characters, both elements blended in such a way that the result is a harmonious whole with a rich and artistic imagery and a compelling atmosphere.

Atmosphere reigns supreme in The Weird Story of Waldemar, the Warlock, as its characters, dialogues and situations are heavily inspired by the charm of ´60s horror films and the charisma of actors such as Vincent Price.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
