Spearhead Games, the indie studio responsible for the quirky co-op puzzler Tiny Brains, has revealed its next project: a competitive physics-based video game for PC and consoles.

Expanding the studio’s “always playtesting” philosophy, Spearhead will be opening the development process to the community for feedback through weekly Twitch shows airing Thursdays at 7 p.m. Eastern. For additional challenge and a little masochism, Spearhead co-founders, Malik Boukhira, Simon Darveau and Atul Mehra, have decided to build the game in three months.

“What we accomplished last year was insane,” said Simon Darveau, co-founder at Spearhead Games. “We built a studio and a game in one year. I went from sleeping on Malik’s couch to building an awesome couch co-op game, and in the process we learned way more than we could have imagined.

Taking our experimental findings from Tiny Brains, we decided we want to give the community even more influence in building this new game. Everything will be open. Everything will be tested. Everything will be up for comment. This is the future of video games as we see it. Why not start the future now?”

More will be revealed on Thursday, March 6th at 7pm Eastern during Spearhead’s weekly Twitch TV show. Meanwhile, have a look at a teaser video, concept art and character sketches.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
