Divinity: Original Sin features a huge, reactive RPG world with unparalleled 2-player co-op. Larian is taking the time necessary to make it right and polish it up.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the game, here is its Vision Statement:

“Picture a modern version of a world not unlike that of Ultima VII, explored either alone or with a friend, that sees you engage adversaries in tactical turn-based combat reminiscent of the great turn-based RPGs of the past. A world that is filled to the brim with choice and consequence situations, reactive NPCs, and a considerable amount of surprises. A world that captures the feeling of playing pen and paper RPGs with our friends. Then add the new stuff…”

Watch this teaser trailer for a sneak preview the game’s world, which is growing ever more vast and interactive. Included is a first look at some of Rivellon’s previously unseen fairytale landscapes and creatures. Further, your elemental powers are no longer the only things that can shift the winds of combat; tempestuous weather can also have a marked effect.

Key features

  • Become part of a reactive, living and open world. Explore diverse environments, find myriad creatures and tons of desirable items.
  • Experience gripping, party- and turn-based combat. Manipulate the environment and use skill & spell combos.
  • Play in co-op multiplayer and engage in co-op dialogues. Shape your relationships with your partner that will influence the game.
  • Unravel a deep and epic story set in the early days of Rivellon. Taking place well before Divine Divinity and The Dragon Knight Saga, Divinity: Original Sin presents you with a familiar world in another era.
  • Classless system lets you shape your character any way you want. Endless item interaction and combinations take things to another level of freedom.
  • Create your own adventures and share them online. With Original Sin comes the powerful toolset used by the game’s designers.

Divinity: Original Sin will be released on PC and Mac in Spring 2014.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
