Fictiorama Studios will be showing off their upcoming point-and-click adventure game Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today at London’s AdventureX show on December 7 and 8, 2013.
Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today takes place during a terrible pandemic that is turning people into “dissolveds” – sick people whose delirium give them supernatural cognitive powers. While that may sound like a great disease to have, this also will eventually lead to a terrible and gruesome death.
To make matters worse, before the pandemic, the “Great Wave” swept through the world, causing a series of natural disasters that destroyed all energy sources and communications, causing chaos. There is hints that this “Great Wave” caused the illness itself.
The game stars Michael, a player-controlled character that has no past, and must recover his identity and discover what brought the world into near destruction. He’s in a bit of a hurry, since there is an impending moment of “dead synchronicity”, or when time itself dissolves completely.
Dead Synchronicity will feature “dynamic close-up dialogues”, where the game zooms in during dialogue scenes for an interesting take on narration. Players will also see “DS-backgrounds”, or dynamic backgrounds that undergo the effects of distorted time.
Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is the first installment out of two, which the second one unnamed and without a release date. As of this writing, Tomorrow Comes Today does not have an announced release date.
