Adventure Mob released today a new gameplay video for Bolt Riley – A Reggae Adventure featuring tutorial gameplay. The game itself is currently on Kickstarter as a collaborative work between Lori and Corey Cole, creators of the popular Quest for Glory series, and the team at  Adventure Mob. The Kickstarter fundraising goal is to help finish production of the game, which has been largely produced via internal funding.

Corey and Lori Cole had this to say about creating Bolt Riley:

“You may have wondered why Lori and I decided to make a new game 15 years after Quest for Glory V. A lot of the credit for that belongs to Oded Sharon as he was seeking experienced adventure game design consultants. We helped with the overall design structure and wrote puzzles and dialogue for the game.”

Bolt Riley is a 2-D point-and-click adventure game about the titular character Boly Riley, a young man growing up in a poor section of Kingston, Jamaica. He loves music, especially Reggae, and wants to become a singer. The game will have players play as Bolt and help him gain the inspiration he needs to write great songs and put together a band. The game will be available initially on the PC, Mac, and Linux platform if the basic funding goal is reached.

Along with releasing the gameplay video (below), Sharon and the Coles will be answering questions on Reddit in an iAmA on Tuesday, November 5 at 3:30PM EST.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
