Professor Layton and his assistants Luke and Emmy are about to head out on a new adventure this November 8, 2013 called Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. Embarking on an airship, this plucky trio will travel to the frozen land of Froenborg to uncover the mystery of the ancient Azran civilization. Once there, players will have to solve a collection of 150 riddles, brain-teasers, and interactive puzzles, with more than 365 available for download as Daily Puzzles from launch until the following year.

Newcomers will be able to jump into an action-packed story, while old-timers will be taking in the sixth adventure that Professor Layton has undertaken. However, like all good things that must come to an end, this will be Professor Layton’s last adventure. Luckily this entry into the series will contain a bunch of twists and revelations in Professor Layton’s past and future.

The plot of Azran Legacy has the adventurers receiving a letter from a famous archaeologist describing his discovery of a living mummy, which turns out to be a girl encased in ice – which then in turn ends up being a living remnant of the ancient Azran civilization. This is the civilization that Professor Layton has been seeking to understand since his youth, which makes for an excellent series-ending story.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy launches in Europe on November 8, 2013, with a North American release sometime in 2014.
