SEGA America announced today that Double Fine Productions and Ron Gilbert’s adventure title The Cave has made the transition to the touch screen on the Apple iOS store. 

 

Developers Ron Gilbert and Double Fine are happy to say that the same graphical quality from the PC version has been retained for the iOS versions to ensure that nothing is lost in the experience between desktop and portable adventure gamers.

 

In The Cave, players pick three from a cast of seven explorers to send into “The Cave” to explore its hidden and exotic locations. Don’t be surprised if you come across a medieval castle,  an amusement park, even a fully-armed nuclear research facility.

 

Each of the explorers have unique personalities, special talents, and their own secret motivations to going into The Cave. With a group of three explorers,  the player can switch between them to work together and uncover more secrets, both about The Cave and the story for each character.

 

The Cave is available on the iOS store for the iPhone 4S and up, iPad 2, iPad Mini and iPod Touch 5. The game has been optimized for the iPhone 5.
