Megan Gaiser to Leave HER Interactive
It’s been announced that she’s off to form a new venture

According to Megan Gaiser, the former CEO/current Chief Creative Strategy Officer, “It has long been my passion to use my leadership and expertise to improve standards around the portrayal of women in media. Now is the time to pursue this on a much broader scale.”
With Gaiser at the helm, Her Interactive has grown Nancy Drew into a globally-loved game franchise, selling over 9 million units worldwide, winning 28 consecutive Parents’ Choice Awards and becoming the #1 series for PC/Mac in the U.S.
Next Generation has named Gaiser one of the “Game Industry’s 100 Most Influential Women.” Gaming Angels has placed her among the “Top 10 Most Influential Women of the Decade.” She has also been a recipient of the 2010 Microsoft Women in Games award and the 2011 IndieCade Honorary Trailblazer Award for Lifetime Achievement.
According to Stuart Moulder, Her Interactive’s current CEO: “We are very grateful to Megan for everything she has done at Her Interactive. The Nancy Drew series of games is one of the longest running series ever created and are a credit to Megan’s creativity and vision. We wish Megan all the best as she takes on the next chapter in her own story.”
Gaiser is planning to collaborate with academics and leaders of the entertainment industry to continue development of positive portrayals of female characters in games and media. She will also be an independent consultant on socially-focused “games for good” worldwide.
“It has been an honor to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate team, as well as an extremely dedicated board, at Her Interactive. Through creative collaboration, we defined a market niche for female gamers in the Nancy Drew franchise,” Gaiser said. “My 15 years have been the adventure of a lifetime. I will miss working in such a dynamic environment. I will forever remain a Her Interactive ambassador.”
