Nancy Drew: The
Final Scene
In The Final Scene Nancy visits the Royal Palladium Theatre in St.
Louis, a historic
old theater slated for demolition. It’s closing with a bang though
as it’s been chosen for the world premiere of movie star Brady
Armstrong’s newest motion picture, Vanishing Destiny. Nancy’s friend
Maya Nguyen is scheduled to interview Brady in his dressing room
right before the premiere, but Maya soon disappears and Nancy finds
herself in a race against the clock to find her friend before its
too late.
JA reviewer Ray Ivey – a
thespian himself – was impressed with
the theatre setting and also wrote ‘…the story is good, and
the usual “everyone’s got a dark secret” formula necessary for
a Nancy Drew story really works, as each character has an intriguing background.
There’s the actor – he’s a hot ticket matinee idol, but what is he afraid
of? There’s
the actor’s agent – just how far would she go to promote her client’s career?
Of course there’s the crusty old projectionist . . . and why does he seem
to be so reluctant to leave the doomed theater? Finally, there’s the passionate
young activist – is he willing to break the law to accomplish his goals?‘
