Nancy Drew
in Danger on Deception Island (known to hardcore Nancy Drew fans as Nancy Drew
IX) is nearing its release date, so we thought
this might be a good time to share what little we know about this
new title (I’m telling you, Her Interactive is more secretive
about their new releases than the CIA).
In Danger
on Deception Island, you,
as teenage sleuth Nancy Drew, must investigate a string of mysterious
events on – Deception Island (insert spooky music here)! Live vicariously
through Nancy as you explore the local town on foot, peddle to the
local lighthouse and Whale Center on bike, and navigate sea caves
and the surrounding waters in a kayak! I just hope Nancy doesn’t
spring a leak, because I’m not the best of swimmers.
The action begins as Nancy
is invited by friend Katie Firestone to Deception Island in the
Pacific Northwest for a whale-watching
excursion. Now being a teenage girl and all (even if she is a 70-year-old
teenager) you would think Nancy would want to engage in some boy-watching,
but you know her – work, work, work.
Nancy arrives only to
discover that her friend’s tour boat
has been vandalized and a threatening note has been left behind.
Through some intrepid sleuthing – and a quick read of the local
newspaper – Nancy learns that the small town is up in arms
over the fate of an orphaned Orca whale that was recently stranded
in the local channel and standing in the way of everyone’s
plans is Nancy’s trusted friend Katie Firestone.
Is Katie truly sinister? Will the Orca join the local barbershop
quartet? Are those designer jeans that Nancy is wearing? Find out
the answer to all these burning questions and more during your visit
to Deception Island.
