Boy,
this PI, Alan Cameron sure doesn’t get much vacation time! Having
recently returned from Scotland (Secret at Loch Ness) he
gets an urgent call from his friend Moira who is currently working
in Cairo, Egypt at an archeological dig. Something’s not kosher
and she desperately needs his help.
Dreamcatcher
will very soon release the sequel to the very enjoyable and successful
Cameron Files: Secret at Loch Ness. This one is entitled
Cameron’s File 2: The Pharaoh’s Curse. It’ll
employ the same point and click 360 degree perspective, is presented
in first person mode, and has numerous cut scenes. The inventory is
quite basic and very user friendly.
Our
mystery begins as Alan checks into his Cairo hotel room and finds
that Moira has left a note asking him to visit her at the museum where
she’s working. Well guess what? She’s vanished! Alan has
reason to suspect the museum curator, and he also unexpectedly finds
two Germans are looking for Moira as well – for their own nefarious
reasons. You’ll be exploring your hotel, the museum, a boat
on which you’ve booked passage, an island, a tomb and a burial
chamber. If that’s not enough action to keep you interested,
then there is also a thousand-year old decaying mummy who is shadowing
your every move.
Looks
like another challenging outing for Mr. Cameron, PI. We had a hands-on
preview of a pre-release version of Cameron Files 2 and found
it to be a fun and enjoyable game that will require you to don your
thinking cap. For any adventurer worth his salt, that is the bottom
line.
Just Adventure will have
a full review soon.
For
now, there is a playable demo available for download at: www.dreamcatchergames.com.
