Maybe … Negator gun has flat batteries. After all, it’s quite an old
thing and although it did serve you reliably in previous Ringworld
instalment this doesen’t guarantee anything. Quinn scrapes
battery out using programmable sensor
probe (quite an unusual use for delicate equipment, one might say).
Yes it’s quite flat. replacement battery can be obtained by vandalizing
Tnuctipun stepping disk with beforementioned probe.
Quinn slaps best of two power capsules into negator gun and removes
stasis field enabling yet another magnificent journey to Ringworld.
He takes an elevator to Bridge and talks with his companions.
