Sam & Max: Episode 2 – Situation: Comedy (2006)
- Platform
- Style
- Perspective: 3rd-person
In the second game of the episodic series, the Freelance Police investigate why talk show host Myra Stump has been holding her audience hostage in the WARP TV studio for three days. After some hurdles to gain access, Myra refuses to let them enter until they have some famous aspects, including a recording contract, a news scandal, and a shot from a TV show they have been in.
The team spends time in the TV studios and takes part in shows such as Embarrassing Idol, Who Will Never Be a Millionaire, and the sitcom Midtown Cowboys.
The game uses the same third-person 3D adventure mechanics as the previous game, with puzzles based on conversations, environmental items, and the inventory. It is a standalone story, and does not require finishing the first game.
It includes new characters such as Myra, the WARP TV director, and the magician Hugh Bliss, along with familiar faces like Bosco of Boscotech and Sybil, who is now publishing a tabloid.
