A young woman is found unconscious by African peasants after her plane crashes following a rebel attack. When she wakes up in the town of Madargane, she has no memory of what happened and believes her name is Ann Smith, a student at a university in Geneva. She does not know why she traveled to Africa.
As she tries to recover her memories, she gradually realizes that she will play a key role in the future of the fictional African country of Maurania. She is more connected to it than she first understands.
The game is a traditional third-person point-and-click adventure with a 3D character model on pre-rendered backgrounds and fixed camera angles. Interaction is limited to screen hot spots using a single-cursor interface, and most puzzles are inventory-based. At one point, the player can take control of a black leopard.
