Galador, a perfectly normal boy, suddenly finds himself in the body of a prince. The sudden rise to office and dignity brings its own problems, since princes are expected to be fearless and heroic.

He does not want that life and hopes to return to his simple, contemplative existence as soon as possible. On the way back, he faces many exciting and amusing adventures.

He meets mysterious wizards, fiery bards, and other adventurous and bizarre characters who stand in his way. There are also many tricky puzzles to solve, but he keeps his goal in mind.
