Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror (1997)

Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is the sequel to Circle of Blood and the second game in the Broken Sword series.

The player alternately controls George Stobbart and Nicole Collard. George witnesses Nicole’s kidnapping, which leads to an investigation into a conspiracy involving a forthcoming solar eclipse and the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca.

The game visits Paris, Marseilles, London, Quaramonte, the jungle, a Caribbean environment, and a zombie island. Some locations from the previous game return.

It is entirely 2D and uses point-and-click gameplay. The player moves characters with the mouse, examines the environment, talks to other people, and collects items in an inventory to use or combine for puzzles.
