Virginia – Screens, Images, Info
A first-person interactive story inspired by television dramas of the 1990s

Virginia, set in the US in the state of…well…Virginia, is the first game in development by indie studio Variable State. This two-person studio seeks to capture the mixture of inexplicability, absurdity and the mundane contained in such ’90s TV shows as The X-Files, Twin Peaks and The Outer Limits (remake). The studio’s intention is to tell surprising stories featuring intriguing characters.
The game, in development since early 2014, is set in the ’90s (of course). It follows a recently-graduated FBI agent and her partner as they investigate a young boy’s disappearance. The two will encounter a cast of “loners, has-beens, creeps and beatniks,” and will discover that nothing is as it seems.
Virginia will be presented in low-poly style with music by composer Lyndon Holland. It’s to be released for Windows some time in 2016. There is no trailer yet, so stay tuned for more info!
