Square Enix announced today that development has begun on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX,  the follow-up to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. The 2.5 version will contain the PlayStation 2 game Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and the PSP title Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, both which were available only on the Japanese market. 

 

The two titles will receive a full HD remastering for its arrival as an exclusive on the PlayStation 3 console. 2.5 ReMIX will also continue the story after 1.5 with Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, and other Disney characters joining in on the adventure. Players will also be able to explore the origins of the Kingdom Heart series with older characters such as Terra, Aqua, and Ventus.

 

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will also be the lead-in to Kingdom Hearts III, which will be released on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in 2014.
