Luckily, this is another mystery that Nancy Drew can solve, as you can accompany her on her own vacation to the Bahamas this summer! After all, except for the real thing, what’s better than a virtual trip where you get meet eccentric characters and solve puzzles and become a detective?

Her Interactive’s valiant twentieth Nancy Drew adventure finds our heroine in the Caribbean with her friends Bess and George, the former having won an all-expense paid vacation. Nancy arrives a day late – only to find that their hosts, the Gibsons, are not there, and Bess has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom! What promised to be a week of fun in the sun takes on a sinister mood as Nancy and George are in a race against the clock to save their friend.

Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships screenshot - click to enlargeLike I said, if you cannot afford to actually visit the Bahamas this summer, no problem! You can go diving and sailing; explore beaches, coves, and bat caves; and interact with island wildlife – including mischievous monkeys, a wisecracking parrot, and some nasty-looking sharks. It’s hard not to stop and drool at some of the game’s exotic locales. But don’t let them distract you from the task at hand! Your adventure will draw you into the search for the lost treasures of El Toro, a notorious pirate whose “Seven Virtues” fleet met an unfortunate fate once upon a time. In order to find the treasures and save Bess, you will have to decode the pirate’s notebook, explore underwater shipwrecks, piece together messages in a bottle, and much more. And for the first time, you will get to play as George (whom you will also get to see for the first time!).

All the mystery, danger, excitement and challenge that you have come to know and love from the Nancy Drew mystery games are present in this latest installment – not to mention a beautiful tropical setting that is hard to resist! Whether you’re an amateur junior detective or an experienced senior detective, you can have a great time solving a Bahamian mystery this summer. And it will put a lot less strain on your wallet!
