St. John
series, you’ll
be happy to know that the second installment is here. And if you
haven’t been
following the series… now might be a good time to begin. The Town
With
No Name
looks to have all of what made the first installment such a great independent
game, and even a little bit more.

This story begins with
clue-hound clairvoyant Delaware St. John picking up the scent of
yet another mysterious trail when he finds
a strange map. Delaware takes off to parts unknown—literally—and
finds himself in a town that seems to have no past or future, and
a pretty sketchy present. Buildings are vacant, cars have simply
been abandoned, and not a living soul is in sight. Of course, since
this is a Delaware St. John game, the non-living will make plenty
of appearances.

Manor
,
players will use ghost-hunting tools like VIC to keep in touch
with the “real world” as they explore
the creepy Town With No Name. Most of the controls and graphical
interface elements will remain the same, but there will be some important
differences between this second game and the first.

For example, the cut scenes
that were originally rendered in 2D still frames have now been
upgraded to full motion 3D. And where
the previous game had two main characters…. Yep, you guessed
it. The duo is now a trio. Hmmmm… 3D, trio, coincidence? Yes,
probably, but it sounds more dramatic when I put them together that
way. In any event, players can now interact with two people in the
real world, Kelly and a British bloke named Simon.

though fans of the first game will find even more to love about
the second one, including a larger area to explore,
an ever-expanding story line, and better graphics. This looks like
another promising installment in the 10-game series, one that ghost-adventure
fans won’t want to miss.

Town With No Name ships on November 28th, and you can buy it on
the official game site, www.delawarestjohn.com.
