| "MCF: Prime Suspects is the second delicious episode in a planned series (the first being MCF: Huntsville). And I'll tell you what: my brain hasn't had such a workout since I tried to qualify for MENSA. Prime Suspects is Huntsville on steroids! "This time there's only one crime -- a theft -- and you must discover the identity of the guilty party by examining 20 suspects. And Prime Suspects adds some new twists. "As in Huntsville, objects hidden in different locations must be found. However, some locations are accessible only via a device for which you must first find a battery, and even then only a small portion of the screen is visible at any one time. "Then, in whatever time remains from each scavenger hunt, you must solve one of three types of puzzles. As in Huntsville, there are pictures to be reassembled. But there are also matching puzzles -- à la Concentration -- and screens full of letters in which you must locate words that appear horizontally, vertically, and even backwards. "And just when you think you've finished the game...there's more. After you nail the wrongdoer you must locate the item that was stolen, which adds another two levels! "All
in all, Prime Suspects is a devilishly intriguing game. It clung
to me like industrial-strength flypaper until I finished it! " |
