Games Journalism Prize Announced
New set of prizes to find and reward the best writing about video games
London, England - July 16th 2012. At a packed event in London, a panel of games journalism luminaries unveiled the new Games Journalism Prize. The three prizes are designed to find the best journalism and writing about video games, are judged by journalists and are non-profit and non-commercial. Anyone can submit entries at www.gamesjournalismprize.com from today.
The prizes are open to all English language articles published during 2012 and the winners will be announced on February 1st 2013. Shortlisted nominees will be revealed throughout the year. The three prize categories are:
News / Investigative Journalism
Reviews / Criticism
Features / Miscellaneous.

The prize has been set up as a non-profit organisation by an advisory committee of games journalism veterans. Advisory panel member Keith Stuart said, “This isn't about individual writers and it isn't about websites or magazines, it's very specifically about celebrating writing, which people haven't really done before. We wanted to make sure right from the beginning that it's clear that this was just about discovering and sharing great games writing.”
