1954: Alcatraz is Announced
Daedalic will take players to the toughest prison in adventure history
Hamburg, 06.06.2012 - Daedalic Entertainment, creator of the award-winning games Edna & Harvey: The Breakout and The Whispered World, and Irresponsible Games announce the upcoming adventure thriller "1954: Alcatraz."
The "Golden Gate," the opening of the San Francisco Bay with the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, was a symbol of freedom for many people. Cynically, prisoners of the infamous Alcatraz can enjoy a beautiful view on this monument at their prison yard. Right there, players slip into the role of the prisoner Joe.
"1954: Alcatraz" takes place in San Francisco of the '50s. Joe was sentenced to 40 years imprisonment due to an armed robbery and he is eager to break out of "The Rock." Therefore, he needs help from his wife Christine who is facing her own problems in San Francisco. Their gangster fellow Mickey threatens to kill Christine if she refuses to hand over the swag. However, where is the prey? Joe only knows where the hideout is and, therefore, the entire North Beach is searching for the jackpot.
Will our hero be successful in the race for the loot? No prisoner was able to break out of Alcatraz before. In addition, drug deals, blackmails, suicide and homicide are daily fare in San Francisco.
Player’s decisions crucially influence the fate of the characters.
Different plots, surprising turns and alternative endings await the players.
"1954: Alcatraz" Features:
- 90 hand-painted locations, based on research of San Francisco, North Beach and Alcatraz.
- Over 20 3D-animated characters
- Clever puzzles and dialogues by Gene Mocsy, the co-writer of Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island
- An atmospheric score by Pedro Macedo Camacho (Fairytale Fights, Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island, A Vampyre Story, Audiosurf)
