RuneScape Announces Easter Event
A hint: not the typical Easter Rabbit vs chocolate-starved children scenario.
Jagex Games Studio, developers of the free-to-play massively-multiplayer online role-playing game RuneScape, released today details of the upcoming annual Easter event. In the world of RuneScape, no other rivalry is as fierce and deadly as the one between the Evil Chicken and the Chocatrice, now that the missing Easter Bunny has left his Easter eggs all around the land. The two rivals have decided to turn the Easter egg hunt into a rather devious game: find out who can turn the most chicks from the Easter eggs into delicious snacks.
Players will get to join in on the fun by either reporting to the Evil Chicken or Chocatrice in Varrack Square to find out when the next Easter egg hunt is starting. Once players have made their pledge to one of the evil villians, they will be given the Eggsterminator, which will turn all the innocent chicks within the eggs into fried chicken drumsticks or chocotreats, depending on wether having scotch eggs from the Evil Chicken or marshallows from the Chocotrice selected in the Combat Styles tab.
The hunts will occur every odd hour, with five eggs to find during each hunt, giving players two hours to find them. Players can team up to find the eggs, as cracking them doesn't get rid of them from the world. Players that find, hatch, and destroy three chicks and hand over the treats, they will earn the right to claim an egg or chocolate-themed mask to show the world your fame or shame. Players that get all five eggs in a hunt will earn a lamp that will give them XP in the skill of their choice.
