Daedalic Entertainment and Deep Silver announced today that upcoming adventure game The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav will be going through an extended development peroid and will push back its release date towards the end of Q2 2012. The extra development time will be used to optimize the game's performance.

Daedalic-CEO Carsten Fichtelmann explains: “The very high potential of Chains of Satinav was confirmed by the very good first reviews we got throughout the media. However considering the few points criticized, as well as our own quality tests, we recognized that the performance of the game still requires some optimizing. Since the quality of the game is our highest priority, we decided to extend the development phase of Chains of Satinav. That way we can provide the best possible gaming
experience to our players.”

In The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, players take the role of the young trapper Geron from the northern kingdom of Andergast. Caught up in a sinister conspiracy, Geron takes on the job of a skilled bird catcher for the king as a mysterious plague of crows begin to make their way into the land, causing trouble and attacking people. In what becomes a prestigous task, Geron is in fact at the start of an adventure that will take him through uncharted lands of Aventuria and beyond.
