Cateia Games, the studio responsible for the first Kaptain Brawe, and Belgrade Frontment Studio, responsible for the visual style of the sequel, along with game industry veterans - screenwriter Steve Ince (Broken Sword), artist Bill Tiller (Monkey Island) and voice-over actor Rolf Saxon (Broken Sword) - are excited to announce the re-launch of Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty Kickstarter campaign with the funding goal and pledges completely redefined, and massive support from Ouya.
The original Kickstarter campaign achieved $90,000 of the $150,000 goal, and it attracted a large community and clearly demonstrated that there’s a high demand for a classic, humorous, beautifully-drawn adventure game. So it seemed reasonable for Cateia Games and the rest of the crew to get back to the drawing board and carefully plan a campaign re-launch, making sure fans waiting for the second installment of the game won’t be disappointed this time.
The new campaign will last 55 days. Moreover, the initial funding goal has been lowered to $75,000 thanks to the amazing support from Ouya’s Free the Games Fund. Ouya will match every pledge dollar-for-dollar up to the goal amount!
Kresimir Spes, CTO, Cateia Games: "Thanks to this amazing partnership with Ouya #freethegamesfund, and with the help of many amazing backers that supported us on our first try, we strongly believe Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty is going to become a reality!"
Kaptain Brawe 2: A Space Travesty is a sequel to acclaimed traditional humorous point & click adventure game from 2010 - Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World. The game and its whimsical characters, colorful, detailed, hand drawn visual style have been inspired by legendary Lucas Arts and Sierra adventure games of old such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Space Quest!
Game main features:
The game will be available in English, with professionally recorded English voice-overs. Subtitles will be available in German, Italian, Spanish, French, and possibly other languages. The dev team needs only $75,000 to finish the game and deliver the full Kaptain Brawe experience on Ouya, PC, iOS, Win8, Mac, Android, Linux, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. The campaign runs until September 11th and the team is strongly counting on the support of initial backers and the adventure games community.
