| Deleted User | I think gameboomers is a better forum. The mods are great there. They do their job to keep out the bad people..especially the 2 people I see who have posted here in this topic. I believe most people joined here to discuss adventure games and feel differently about this site when they read the posts. They join but they probably dont come back.Just by reading this thread I can tell who The Loudest are and the wantabees. Now you know why most people dont post here.

Call me crazy but I want to make my own judgement about people.
Can someone please provide relevant links for me?
I believe most people joined here to discuss adventure games... Like you, not-so-friendly-fish, huh?

Well, choices, always choices. Either post or don't post, whatever.
Unless you have broken all your fingers and typing with your elbows, lost your ability to think for yourself and aren't ready to feel some emotions sometimes then maybe this isn't what you consider a safe enough place to post. ???
Someone needs to tell me who the bad people are, I haven't a clue.  o the bad people know that they are the bad people. :-/
First post and they went for the throat, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, where did I put those bandaids.

I seem to recall someone - who will remain nameless - that was a very influential member at Gameboomers. He's not there anymore... However, I have seen him here...
Makes one wonder -
They do their job to keep out the bad people.. Bad... The word is rather subjective - So, enjoy your censorship.

To be fair, it is possible to read the forums without registering. Maybe that was the case here, maybe it wasn't. We'll probably never know

Status : Online | Yes Michal, that is true........this person was probably a 'guest', reading everything, then decided to register just so he/she could make that post. And I think in was done intentionally, just to see what kind of 'flamewar' could be started.
Red...I'd like to know who this person thinks the 'bad' people are too, or the 'wantabees'......oh well, maybe I am one.....but who cares........I enjoy myself here, this person can't ruin that for me. Besides, a person that want to be a wantabe here, 'What' would they want to be a wantabe about? Did that make sense? :-/
Inland.........who? who?

This thread is exactly why I like this board and feel comfortable here. No mod police here waiting to pounce . This thread would have been closed a long time ago "somewhere else". It is sad to see someone register just to say that they don't like it here - very strange behavior I must say! Later, friedmonky
By the way, yes I am a monky and yes I am fried.

Are you serious that if you were a mod you might feel the urge to lock and delete some posts? I could have - but only if I was a mod (and then it'd be because I was a mod). Since I'm not, I don't, and I'm glad the real mods don't either.
Good thing I am not a mod as I would not lock or delete anything - free speech rules! Within reason. And I think so far we've been well within reason.

They do their job to keep out the bad people..especially the 2 people I see who have posted here in this topic. I don't know why but I don't agree with your idea of "bad".
I believe most people joined here to discuss adventure games and feel differently about this site when they read the posts. Please, could you be more specific?
They join but they probably dont come back. If they're like you, I have no problem with that.
Just by reading this thread I can tell who The Loudest are and the wantabees. Now you know why most people dont post here. And what is the problem with the "loudest"? If you're meaning that people here is being outspoken, you're baddly wrong.
Try to be more clear with your next post, if you ever post here again - if you don't, we all will be happier

Status : Online | About good and bad boards... I'm floating pretty easily between the different boards I hang in. I realize each board has it's unique special feel, and I consider it to be rather easy to respect whatever rules or praxis that are apparent in each place. It's like... coming home to somebody and you accept how things are done in that person's house if you get me, it's not like you have to go back if you don't feel comfortable there. Things are done differently on different boards, and for better and worse as a poster I have to adjust to that. Either by not posting, or posting under the rules of the place I'm visiting. The trick is to find the place that represents yourself the best I think. It's really depressing to hear that people feel unfairly treated and kicked for no "good" reason, but put it behind you, and find a better livingroom to hang in, is what I think.
Which leads in to the not "daring" to participate on JA issue. It's not surprising to me that people get defensive, when they hear that they are bullying people not to participate in a public forum. It's also not surprising, that people can get hurt unbeknown to the "culprit". What surprises me, is that people get offended, without giving the benefit of the doubt. Asking if somebody meant it as being rude. AND is it really that hard to say sorry when somebody accidentally felt hurt? It's a give and take deal as I see it.
These are issues that pop up once in a while, on every board (that allows it) and it usually almost always boils down to people opening up to the possibilites that misunderstandings are pretty darn easy to make when you're writing like this. It's cultural differences, language problems, hasty notes that can be misconstrued... Everybody knows this, right? So those of you that feel you have to defend or attack, relax. This is a great place for those who like it, and a place to leave for those who don't. Simple as that.

Status : Online | As far as I'm concerned, I only participate in a conversation if I have anything interesting to say about the topic. This is no more different than I do in real life, when in company I also only talk when I want to add something to the conversation. If I feel I cannot add anything more, I refrain from repeating that which has already been said or something that is not relevant to the discussion.
Do not be afraid, I will post when I see a discussion in which I can have a part.
I always wondered why I have never seen a message by one of the mods on this board. In fact, there's another board where the mods are also nowhere to be seen. Has there been a conspiracy to eliminate all mods, which has now been carried out? Are all the mods gathered to consider new tactics on how best to handle 'bad people'?
If the topic is interesting enough, I can stay in a discussion for quite a long time, but on this board I have not seen a thread having that quality. Also, it doesn't matter how many posts I've mode. I'll probably never get to 5 stars, but I don't care. Also, when I'm in a discussion, I never get personal. I only tackle a person's statements, not the person itself.

I do get a good giggle out of some of the posts. Good to see a lively discussion. If people get their knickers in a twist, so what? It is only a Forum and you cannot please all of the people all of the time.

Are all the mods gathered to consider new tactics on how best to handle 'bad people'? Some mods prefer the "hands off" approach. I think it has worked very well on this forum so far.

We both got kicked out and laughed our heads off. Changed our IDs and went back in and had another "fight" ..... kept our small minds amused for days The things you do when you have spare time and no new games to play
