Normally, I stay out of these discussions but...

The JA reviewers review what they want to review. They may be offered suggestions and such but unless they agree to accept a free game in exchange for a review of it, the reviewers review what they want. We are so appreciative that they send in these reviews considering it's all done on a volunteer basis. I think we have the most excellent reviewers available.

We can be heroes, just for one day.

Because maybe the reviewer just happened to play NOLF2 and offered to write a review? I don't know, you can ask Ray Ivey about it

so many adventures that are not reviewed, not even known by many... why not bring those to the open instead? they would DEFINATELY interest more adventurers

Nobody's stopping you from writing reviews for JA+
Didn't you say you did some writing professionally? If you are so unhappy about the situation, do something about it

Ok, Panayotis, ok. You asked for it:

I, Rael, solemnly commit myself to review Igor, Maupiti Island and many older titles if there are no newer Adventure titles for reviewing.

Now, how is that? :

that says it all... i, as a member, may not aproove reviewing action games over adventures but when it's all done voluntarily and offered free of charge i can only comment on what i think would be better.... and i did that

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

no, didn't say that! (read your words and my answer again!)... besides i couldn't write a review of a game... i am very subjective

Excellent! just add the word "Adventure" between the words "newer" and "titles" to eliminate any loopholes!

Oh, but every review is subjective. So, instead of pretending that is not the case, it's better to be frank about it. You can try to be "objective" but IMO that can never be 100%. No matter what, you will either like a game(/book/movie) or not, and that will be somehow reflected in the review. You can try to minimize the impact but in the end, you won't give an A to a game you didn't like and vice versa.

i only said that this: "People who are good at spelling in one language are usually good at spelling in other languages. But more importantly there's your no-caps-and-no-interpunction which makes me think that you probably don't do a lot of formal writing" is another wrong asumption!

Nobody's forcing you to review anything in particular... if you don't want to review a game, you don't. That's an advantage of volunteer work

But I should add that "hate" reviews can be pretty interesting.

WOW!!!!  You two just keep going at it with each other.
And you  know what??  Aya & Michal should have their own forum board here for DEBATES! Cause that is what it sounds like between them. You know, like how the presidential debates go....and others......then you two could 'debate' on topics........ what do yous think?
These aren't flamewars here anymore, they are definately Debates!

You know, Belinda, I wouldn't call this a "debate" because a debate is when two people reasonably discuss a subject. In this case, I'd say it was more like a person trying another one to listen to reason. In this scenario, usually one of those people is wrong. In this subject, Michal is right, Aya is wrong

I like the mix, really my favorites are action adventure,  I do enjoy alot of other genres and to me playing any game can be an "Adventure"
