| Deleted User | You'll have to split those cut logs first. You'll need to do this twice.
If you've watched many Westerns, you'll know what to use as a base for your log-splitting.

Place the logs (you cut from the other farm) out on the stump outside. Use the axe to split them. Dump the split logs into the fireplace and use the matches to start it up. Use the bellows to increase the flame. Then put the wet jacket on the stand and move it to the middle of the fireplace. Viola.

Status : Online | I'm stuck even earlier on. Haven't played an adventure game in years (some of the old Kings Quest/Space Quests)
I can't figure out how to get off the first farm. I've fed and saddled the horse, but guess I need to find my guns before leaving. Pretty sure I've picked up everything that can be picked up. (ropes, saw, money, log, carrots, etc. etc)
Any help/hints appreciated (or PM if you want to get more specific)
Thanks

There is an apple in the kitchen area, on the cabinet, but the horse won't eat it. You need to feed the horse carrots to get it to go from town to town. And you can only get the toy guns until much later on in the game.

I have the toy guns. I found them in the drawer in the bedroom at the very beginning of the game. The character stated he needed to find his real guns....

| Deleted User | The cape is not part of the disguise.
You need the dry, clean jacket, eyeglasses, cushion, black bowler hat and doctor's bag.

Bacardi: Did you beat the Shooting Gallery yet? I keep missing by one... like 3 or 4 times now. heh
Got a couple chores to do... will check back a little later.

| Deleted User | I tried the shooting gallery a total of 43 times and never succeeded. In fact, on my best attempts, I only got 28 targets in Round 4.

I've noticed that you can select his oil can and he takes a big swig before he starts shooting... If you do actually need 50 to get the winchester then I'm in trouble....

You need to go back to the saloon. Talk to the guy at the table beside the stage. He says something like he doesn't want to be bothered. Go up to the bartender and ask about the guy at that table. Find out what he does. Tip the bartender a minimum of $5 to get okayed with the stranger then go buy some adulterated oil from the smuggler. Use that on Arturito after you beat level 4.
I still can't get better than 29... Got it twice more. What is your strategy when you play it, norm?

| Deleted User | Jeez, SomeOne. How about printing out a complete walkthrough? I mean, when somebody asks for a "hint" it doesn't mean they want detailed step-by-step instructions. Kinda takes the whole point out of playing an adventure game, eh?

*sigh*
Never mind me. Just a pet peeve of mine. No offense intended, and I'm sure your assistance is appreciated.

Well, besides shortening the nerves to your hands, the only thing I can think of is that most of the time the targets show up in a clockwise rotation. Usually like twice a round they'll show up in a perfect clockwise rotation from the top left tree, across the top, down to the bottom right window then left across the bottom. If you can hit all of those with the "Fast Shot" it's a nice boost to your score.
I play lots of different computer games including "twitch" games so getting 30 wasn't so difficult for me.

Status : Online | Sweet, that worked. I got 32 / 30 on stage 4 with that advice. That clockwise recognition is the trick. I went and got the alternative oil, went back, and could only get 28 because my hands and head are tired. I'll complete the shooting gallery later.
Cheers
EDIT: Finally got passed that nightmare. Thx again.

1) Freeing the prisoner. Step one is to get the sheriff to leave the jail. You do this by buying a mobile telegraph from Jackson's store, in town. Use the hand car and go across the bridge and climb up either of the phone poles (using the climbing belt... found inside the large gate behond the store). Use the Mobile Telegraph at the top of the phone pole. Next, go back to the train station, in town, and speak with the telegrapher. He will ask you to deliver a telegraph to the sheriff. Next, deliver the telegraph to the sheriff. Leave his office, and take a step around the side and watch him leave for the train station to wait for the commissioner. The front door is locked, so go around back and speak with Tom through the open window. He says he needs something (I cannot find that object just yet myself though). Next, go to the train station, and speak with the sheriff. Learn about the bull (of which I cannot locate that item to move it either). This is how far I am in freeing the prisoner.
2) You need to buy the pliars in Jackson's store (in town) for $2. You need to try going upstairs, in the saloon. The bartender will ask you to stop. Go back to him and pay the $3 to take a bath, and he will give you a key. Collect all the items if you have not been up here before (in every room). Speak with the dentist (that picture is on his desk) to see what you must do to get that picture. Go back downstairs and purchase the XXX whiskey from the bartender (for $12) after speaking with the dentist, and agreeing on terms for the service you will provide him.
