Well, ok, 0-0 then. Now the advantage is on Liverpool's side. I bet you're happy to hear it, Aya.

Milan vs. Eindhoven 2-0    1-1-1
Not a good show by Milan, but often times teams that are lucky get the cup.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool 0-0    0-1-0

Scores:

77 Aya
76 Elfstone
53 Lucien21

And yet hotter on your tail, Aya!

Wouldn't be surprised if we end up equal. Happened before in a different place...  :

In my other game many people had a 2-0 for Milan so that I fell back a bit. But none of those had a draw for the derby...
The #1 has 108 points. Those are 19 (!) 3-pointers and 51 normal hits.
I have 11 3-pointers and 46 hits, but I missed out on 12 games which throws me back quite a bit. Guess I could have been in the top10 if it wasn't for those. I'm #13 so far.

oh yes i am!
i am not happy that you are closer though! i should have had more faith in them... but what i am mostly not happy about is that, once again, i didn't go with my instincts... i wanted to go for a 2-0 for milan, but i saw both of you having it as 3-0 and my judgement was affected... >

No significant changes...this still is at least as exciting as today's game.
I wanted to go for a 1-0, btw. Because 1-0 rocks. Remember that time when I did 3 of them and 2 were a hit? I should do this more often.  :

Going for PSV, Aya? Might not be a bad choice. You might predetermine this thing tomorrow. Sure hope for a great finale.
After tomorrow it would be just ONE damn game...

liverpool is in the final baby!!!

now, tomorrow there's only a few things that may happen: 1. i get 3 pts and the game is over, 2. i get 1 pt and we're 2 pts apart, 3. you get 1 pt and we're tied, 4. you get 3 pts and you are 2 pts ahead or 5. no one gets any pts (milan winning, which i sincearly doubt)... now, if 2-5 happen, the cl final will mean a real final here too!

Well, perhaps he did mean "cocu", the French for "cuckold". Of course, if this were the case, inquisitive minds might wish to know how Aya would be aware of the marital affairs of that particular person... but surely nobody would even think of asking such questions.

Kidding aside, what were the results? I am just too curious... but that's mostly because I would like to know the outcome of your bets (well, besides Anne's gloating that is).

Anne didn't even predict this game, did she? I don't get it.  ???

PSV vs Milan 3-1 !
Aya was robbed again! Granted, it was in the second minute of extra time which is perfectly expectable.  :

Whatever. That way it stays exciting. Well, not too much.
My only hope is a 3-pointer. But I can't guess first, because then we might have that infamous draw.

Well, here are the totals before the final match day:
79 Aya
77 Elfstone
53 Lucien21

AGAIN! yes, that's the word [smiley=furious.gif]

i mean i had 1 pt for the whole game, then at 91' i get 3 pts, and i lose them at 92' just cause mr cocu decides to score a goal that has no meaning whatsoever! [smiley=furious.gif]

on the upside though, this makes the cl final a final here too!
i still don't know who to go for... emotionally of course i am with liverpool all the way! we'll see

But I can't guess first, because then we might have that infamous draw

infamous draw? what's that?

You know, I was having this speech a couple times now that I had a game with a friend of mine and we ended up exactly equal after a whole Bundesliga season! Same could happen here if I guess first, you know why, don't you?

But I just realised that you will probably go for a full victory which means this situation isn't that complicated after all.

Liverpool will be the new champion of the Champions League
Remember how Milan was playing vs PSV??
I dont think they will win Liverpool with that kind of play, i belive that Liverpool deserved to win CL this year but Milan was lucky vs. PSV , will Milan be lucky vs. Liverpool?
???
And yes, the score is 1:0 for liverpool...

Phenomenal!!
[smiley=clap.gif] [smiley=bowdown.gif]

What a match. After the first half I thought I might as well sleep (I was briefly dozed off before the 3-0 for Milan, by that time I had already lost all chances for our little game, btw). But it would follow a second half like I have never seen before and eventually Liverpool would end it in a brutal penalty.
This whole season does wonders for tournaments. I used to think of CL as slow-going, show-offy neutralisation soccer...a lot has changed.

Oh, the result:
Liverpool vs Milan 3-3 / 3-3 / 6-5    0-1-0

Hamann did a great job and his penalty was cool.
Dudek saved the day in front of an unfortunate Shevchenko...that MUST have been a goal!
And then he misses the penalty...of course...

Here's the final table:
79 Aya
78 Elfstone
53 Lucien21

Damn, that was exciting. Btw, in my other game I have 81 points, so that one match I mistyped in here really hurts me, as expected.  [smiley=doh.gif]
The best there has 108 points!
But I missed a whole match day there, because I was a bit too late to send the predictions.
We missed a day here, too. But a different one.
Reason (stated by Aya):
"well, we missed tuesday due to the server being down, but now it's up so i'm posting some quick guesses before it goes down again!"
So, that gives the balance in scores.

Congratulations for Aya's (extremely thin) victory!

excuses, excuses!

man what a game that was!!!
i had programmed the vcr to record it while i was gone, and did my best not to find out anything about it (avoiding this thread and lucien's email!)... and i am really glad i started watching with no clue whatsoever of what's gonna happen! probably one of the best finals in euro cup history! i am keeping the tape too!

all around, an excellent football year for me... olympiakos won the greek championship and cup, and liverpool won the cl (and i won this!)
can't wait for the next one to start (and win it again!
)... lucien is getting inet soon, so he will be here too!
