Return To Zork has the most cheesy acting ever - but I loved it!

But Tim Curry is a real actor, a REAL ACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!     That's rare!

But BTW, aren't we talking about ACTING, and not VOICE ACTING?

I'd nominate TEMUJIN in that category.

1) Tim Curry imo is a bad actor

2) There are many real actors in games, it's not that unusual. We have had Dennis Hopper, the guy who played the scientist in the back to the future movies, Mark Hammil from Star Wars, 3 other actors from the Star Wars movies will play in Zelenhgorm, a very famous Swedish actress has made the voice of April in the Swedish TLJ and more and more and more...

But anyway the fact that he is an actor does not mean that he's a good one, nor that his voice suited Gabriel.

Well, if you include adventure/action games then I proudly nominate the Resident Evil series for the award.  The intro to Resident Evil 1 should sweep the bad voice acting awards no problem!

when it comes to worst voice acting, Jack Orlando wins hands down!

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Ahhhh, don't think Dennis Hopper played the scientist in the Back to the Future movies, and yes the actor who did play in them was corny.

But......Dennis Hopper was in Black Dhalia I believe and really bad.

i think dimi meant Dennis Hopper + the actor from Back to the Future + etc etc

btw the actor is Christopher Lloyd (who played in Toonstruck)

The absolute worst acting I have ever seen in a computer game was in The Synnergist.

Is anyone else trying to think of the worst actor in the Beast Within?  Strangely, I cannot think of one.  I can think of some over actors (Grace, KK Leiber) but not one of them was "bad"
Hmmm, man, I love that game.
BTW:...Tim Curry's voice is better than Dean's

Believe it or not, out of the hundreds and hundreds of adventure games I have played, I have just run across what  believe is the worst voice acting I have ever heard.

Shenmue 2 - a game that cost millions to develop - has voice acting so autrocious that it makes some of the dubbed Godzilla movies seem like Shakespeare.  You honestly cringe at the voices that come out of some of the characters mouths.

#2 though would have to be the Orion Conspiracy.  Unbelievablly cheesy and pornographic dialogue hammed-up by a roomful of William Shatners wannabees.

My vote goes to the main character in Road to India (english version). If I was that guys girlfriend I think I would prefer being sacrificed to the gods before having to hear his voice every day for the rest of my life...

The Watchmaker... I agree with the reviewer who said it sounded like half the cast had just been dragged in from the office. Especially the supervisors wife! She didn't even bother to change the tone of her voice, just read the lines of the sheet by the sounds of it.

Hall of Shame for Bad Acting (and Voice Acting) in an AG:

Tim Curry as Gabriel Knight; sounded like he was a Southern redneck on "downers".

ALL of the characters in Schizm.

Dennis Hopper AND Terri Garr in Black Dahlia...both acted as if extremely bored with their roles...and made it come true for the player.

Everyone points out that Tim Curry was bad in GK3, but they never mention that he was good in GK1.  It balances out - it's unfair to just say he's a bad actor.

In Black Dahlia, Dennis Hopper gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen anybody give in any medium.

Deleted UserWhen it comes to voice acting, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned King's Quest 5 yet. But in that particular case it's mostly just cute. I mean, in-house Sierra staffers with no voice acting experience made all the voices in the best way they could. How can you not love it?

The very first lines in the intro immediately sets the standard for the rest of the game. Who can forget it? :

Josh Mandel as Graham: "My castle, what has happened!?"

Richard Aronson as the infamous Cedric: "Ooooh, I know what happened."

Classic!

Maybe I should make allowances for age, and most people seem to listing more recent games anyway, but I'd nominate The 7th Guest (overall) or the bum in Golden Gate.
