According to my online store gameswarehouse.com.au, the Australian release date is 10 Aug 2004... which is usually later than the rest of the world

Status : Online | That's funny--cause every time I visit Amazon it pops up a message that says it came out July 17. They also show that it's on sale and will ship in 1 to 2 weeks:

I think Amazon is confused about the shipping date and made a mistake giving you two different dates of release. Look underneath 'see more pictures' you'll see this :

While an exact date hasn't been mentioned, the latest that I have heard from Jonathan is that Lights Out is on track for official release in September. Perhaps the end of August date that Gatorlaw mentions is when it goes gold?

Seems like ages ago (almost two years?) when I first played Dark Fall. Since I first heard about Jonathan's work on DF2, now just called Lights Out, I have been eagerly following its development and impatiently awaiting its completion and release.

It sounds like you have been getting mixed messages regarding the release date for Dark Fall II. This doesn't surprise me, as TAC have been releasing different dates since announcing the publication of the game. The official date is August 26th for release, but you can pre-order the game from TAC, Amazon and EBGames.
It must be disappointing to have to wait a little longer, but the darker months of September (and October) will be a far more appropriate time to play. Spooky!
