| Deleted User | I quite like Rebel Assault 1 and 2. Those are pure "shoot'em up" in precalculated 3D. The first one must look pretty ugly now but I think the second should still look good.
I think they got a lot of bad reviews, but I find them fun to play nonetheless.
Jedi knight 1 makes me dizzy when I play, unlike any other FPS. Dunno exactly why; weird perspective maybe ???

Jedi Knight has some of the best level design ever including one level on a ship thats crashing and the roof and floor keep changing places.

Status : Online | My favorite Star Wars games are for the consoles.
I loved the Rogue Squadron game for Nintendo 64. I think there were released some sequels to PC, I'm not really sure. This game is one of the best flight combat games I ever played.
Other Star Wars games I truly enjoyed were the 3 released for Super Nes: Super Star Wars, Super Empire SB and Super ROTJ. Truly great old school platform games. I think the first was released for PC, and you might find it on the Home of the Underdogs, I think.
I also liked Rebel Assault 1 very much, lots of interesting flight missions. I haven't liked RA2 that much however, as it was too focused on shooting rail games, a la Mad Dog McCree.
One game that I truly advise you NOT to play is the Star Wars Pod Racer game, certainly the WORST Star Wars game ever, and also one of the worst racing games I ever played.
Also, like everybody said, KOTOR is great!
EDIT: Oh, yeah. Now that I read Mike's post I remembered how truly fun was Gallactic Battlegrounds. I don't play many strategy games, but I was really addicted to that game. Very enganging, indeed.
I remembered one more Star Wars game I really liked: Jedi Power Battles. It was released for Playstation 1, and it resembles the old style beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage. I had lots of fun with that game, played and replayed a lot with my friends. Lots of different combos to try. I really recommend it!

Galactic Battlegrounds can be fun when in the mood for a real-time strategy game. Yeah, it's like Age of Empires 2 in basic gameplay, but it also has air units which adds a whole other dimension to it. It can be really funny to see Darth Vader attacking a building with a light saber, but overall I think it's a fun game. And it's the only place I know of where the Gungans are pretty cool.
For adding to the storyline and raising intriguing questions, the game to play is Star Wars from Namco for the original NES from 1987. It's not the Star Wars game released later in North America, it's the other one released in Japan. You know you are in for an interesting game when you make it across Tatooine and enter a sandcrawler, confront Darth Vader there and he suddenly turns into a giant scorpion. So, since he's Luke's father, does this mean Luke is really a scorpion? Shadows of TLJ?
Okay, don't really play the NES game. It's a huge pain, but it's pretty funny in parts. Now I'm tempted to play it myself.

I own Jedi Outcast but haven't played it yet. Same for KOTOR.
I've played a little of X-Wing Alliance. I would recommend it if you like space combat sims. I also had a lot of fun playing Rogue Squadron, but it's basically an arcade-style shoot-em-up.

It's an RPG, it's deep, the storyline has some great twists and there's far more to being good or evil. I loved it, although the near-continuous ending put me off RPG's for a while.

Have you seen Randy's review?

I've played it some both on the PC and Playstation. I just couldn't get into it. I got as far as the palace at Theed and just couldn't bear it anymore. I was bored. Star Wars shouldn't be boring.

Ok, another missed opportunity from LucasArts. Thanks for the info. Too bad, could have been a nice game. :-/ The Star Wars hype once triggered me in buying a game called Yoda's stories, a cheap excuse for a game. Hideous graphics, even for its time and even for its lower price, stupid plot and action parts. It was one of the few games I got rid of without ever bothering to finish it.
