The unfortunate passing of Marlon Brando has recently made me reflect upon how I would rate my favorite actors of all-time.  I was wondering who other forum members would choose as their favorites.  Here is my list:

10 ---->   Richard Dreyfuss
9 ----->   Alan Alda
8 ----->   Robert De Niro
7 ----->   Al Pacino
6 ----->   Johnny Depp
5 ----->   Jack Nicholson
4 ----->   Henry Fonda
3 ----->   Clint Eastwood
2 ----->   Marlon Brando
1 ----->   Humphrey Bogart

But Lucien, you must admit even Will Smith is a better actor than Rand Miller!

Sorry Anne, didn't mean to stress you out

Yea I know what you mean, for me the top 7 were pretty easy but I had a dozen or more actors vying for the final 3 spots.  Even so, ranking the top 7 was pretty difficult.

Would it make it easier for you if you listed your top 20 and didn't rank them?

Rand Miller was one of the co-creators of the original Myst and played the part of one of the brothers in the videos in the game.  Im not sure, but I don't believe he was nominated for any awards for that performance

It could be films or stage or even television.  Whoever YOUR favorites are, I really don't care about Oscars.  The kind of actor that when you find out he's in a movie (or play, whatever) you want to see it... even if it's a movie you'd normally have no interest in.

I didn't mean "eye-candy"... you can list those in the "your favorite pin-ups of all-time" thread .

It really depends on your generation and the type of movies you like to watch. As a general rule, I prefer British actors. Maybe it's because of the accent
, or because I love many British productions ( Merchant Ivory, Masterpiece Theatre, etc.).

Man.. I forgot to mention a great movie, Generation Ax.
It has the only foreplay scene I've seen where the couple are throwing brain-goo on each other. [smiley=thumbs.gif] It got 5.5/10 on imdb, it really shows how terribly unfair the graiding system there is. (1/10 is really way more than it deserves)
