But.....but.... soccerballs don't make those screaming noises...........when you kick them.[smiley=devil_smiley_grintail.gif]
@SquarejawHero: I'm glad your cat is back, Bubbah.........instead of walking in my backyard.
(ok,ok I must admit that my point of view is somewhat be intensified by the overwelming amount of cat lovers.)

I agree, Hobbes is a tiger who acts like a dog! And he's very cuddly too
That's strange. When you quote someone, you can actually see what he has written before the filter did its' nasty work (in this case it was absolutely superfluous). It even works in the preview. Never noticed that before.

Hi Elfstone, Here is a pic of my 9-year old very stubborn Rottweiler, Kira....she is nine, and thinks she's still a young pup!
I am hoping that I get to make the decision for the next dog we get....Kira only listens if she thinks you mean business. I ask her to move, and she looks at me like "Are you talkin' to me??"
BTW...I also have two cats....I can't say that I really have a preference...they both have their pros and cons in my book.
SquarejawHero, I am so happy to hear that your cat is back...sometimes mine go missing, and I feel like a father waiting by the window for his 16 year-old daughter to return home.  though I am not a father, I am a mother ) I read last night about your cat missing, and am happy for your good news.

Where I live they are considered dangerous and aggressive, mostly because if irresponsible owners that like their aggressivness. Generally, they're loving and cute.
Does she get along with the cats?

I'm quite torn on the issue of dog attacks. I would like that people don't get the "dangerous" breeds. You never can tell when a dog ticks. You always want to comfort yourself because he's so cute and nice...but it can happen, that's nature. A hot issue. Not easy to pick sides.

Now, kittens I like. I guess their "I'm better than you" gene hasn't been activated yet. I once bought a show-quality Persian kitten that I loved dearly, but he died within two weeks. On top of that, it died Thanksgiving Day just as I put my turkey in the oven, AND did it in front of my then 3 year old daughter by having a massive seizure from nowhere. It was terrible. There was screaming (by my child), crying (by me), blood (from the cat), and burned turkey. Pretty much put a damper on the Thanksgiving festivities. The breeder wouldn't take any responsibility because I didn't pay to have an autopsy done. I can take a hint: it obviously wasn't meant to be!
Hope I didn't offend anyone. I still like people who like cats and I intend to get another cat one day and see if I can like them.
In the meantime, my itty-bitty, sweet baby chihuahua wears a shirt that says, "I like cats: they taste like chicken."
My name is Bethany and I'm the daughter of Gamergal/Michelle.

I won't come out and say I hate them because my wife has two of them I try to mostly just ignore them. Unless they try to sit on the furniture and then I throw pillows at them.  Just kidding honey )
At least they had their claws yanked out.

Selina, Nice looking Rottie. Our daughter and her husband have two of them but the female I'm quite sure is part something else - even though she was sold as a purebred (they didn't get the papers as they didn't intend to breed them). They also have two cats and they all lie in front of their woodheater together now as it's supposed to be winter here (not that you'd know it by the temperatures, I've shorts and T Shirt on right now!). Their house is on half an acre and has a bit of rainforest and trees, so is cooler than where we are, hence the woodheater. Anyway her dogs take no notice of them whatsoever even though they've both been to training since they were just a few weeks old, they're about 2 - 2.6 year old now and I don't think they're ever going to be as obedient as I like a dog to be, take great delight in jumping up all over you and particularly standing on your toes with their big feet! : Nice natured luckily, although I wouldn't want to be sneaking around the property at night if they were loose (not that they ever are!).

That's not cruelty. What's cruelty is what one of my old girlfriend's cats did to all of my record albums with their damn claws. >
The current clawless cats are fine (and so is my furniture). They never go outside and they don't really realize they don't have claws. And we can get into some great fights batting each other

Gee, you can have a cat's claws clipped without the cruelty of actually de-clawing them! Elfstone's right, de-clawing is nothing more than a cruelty to them.

Not true! Every cat (and dog) I've ever owned could tell when I'm deeply distressed and would come over to me to offer me a (furry) shoulder to cry on.
