You have to give it at least some points for originality.
I'm sorry, I dissagree. I think it gets low points for originality.
Lets see...
we have the tormented genius - locked in a closet as a child - oh yeah, never seen that before.
Then of course, its the evil church. - hmmm.. nobody ever does that.
And of course, we have the ubiquitous noble savage. Now, there's something new.
I kept hoping that guy from NY would show up and actually do something more original than what Dumb and Dumberer (those Russian bros) had up their sleeve.
But, in all fairness, the Mammoth idea was very good. I just wish we could have done more on the island. The puzzle with the horn was quite satisfying.

I could not agree more -
The day will come when the two games are sold in one package at one price.
Two games for 29.95 each or one game at $59.95 -- Syberia IS one adventure broken into two parts.
Syberia one's main fault to me was -- Syberia wasn't EVEN part of the story!
So -- to me one major saving grace of Syberia 2 was the fact that it did have something to do with....yep -- Syberia !!!!
I wholely enjoyed this game, -- and BS3.
I'm amazed that both Syberia 2 and BS3 get as much flak as they do on this forum.
However, some of the buzz I've been hearing around right now is that TLJ2 is not any holy grail of adventure games.
Some preview people have said that Syberia 2 is actually a better adventure game and that the adventure game that the Syberia 2 team is currently working on WILL BE the next holy grail of adventure games.
Me - I'll buy both AND enjoy them anyway!!!!

What good will the life lessons she learned do if she's stuck on a dead island? I also would have liked more gameplay on Syberia, as well as a little more persistance and eventual success on the part of the detective [smiley=detective.gif] sent after her. Their return trip and Kate's interaction/cooperation with someone a little more lively than Oscar and Hans might be nice.

But maybe Hans comes back after joy-riding with the mammoths and he and Kate make little Voralbergs. Then they spend the next 10years raising the kids and filling the ark with mammoths for the Yukols (Syberia did wonders for Hans's health). She and the kids and Hans then sail back on the ark when it makes its 10-year trip. She and Hans get married by the Yukol chief. Then, Hans dies (after he signs the contract) and Kate buries him in the mammoth bone yard. Kate and the kids go back to New York, Kate gets a lump of cash for the sale of the Voralberg plant, since she and Hans got married, and they live happily ever after! LOLOLOL.

Nah, Hans already signed the contract at the end of Syberia I. So Kate just has to wait... ehmm.. 10 years... for the ice ark to return allthough she can use her puzzleskills to make it return sooner, of course
