Well, at least I know it isn't impossible. I had no clue how long to make the clips without completely giving the answer away. I'll have to see how others do so I can adjust the difficulty if need be...

A few, like #7, are too short.
Are all of these song intros?

All but #8 are intros. I am going to lengthen the ones that haven't been answered yet to make it easier. I'll post again when I have updated them...

The original instrument that played it was probably a saxophone. I can't remember any lyrics. I have transcribed it from memory to guitar. If anyone can tell me the song, it would be appreciated. It is driving me nuts.

| Deleted User | It is the sax line from Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street". The album was called City to City.

| Deleted User | The Foo Fighters also covered "Baker Street" on a CD single released in 1998, along with songs from their The Colour and the Shape album.
Gerry Rafferty broke into music as part of Steeler's Wheel, best known for their hit song "Stuck in the Middle With You."

Yes, too much rock in this quiz. What about equal opportunity for other genres?

Well, that isn't exactly my version. If I was going to make it "my own" it would have machine gunning double bass on the drums and a be sung by a singer who gargles razor blades and broken glass to massage his larynx before performing.
And that would be the radio version... LOL!

Oooh... Reservoir Dogs. What a great film that was. Particularly when that song played... It got my ear's attention, that's for sure.

You are right on the first two, but I think the nearly 300 year old song I have on the list certainly qualifies as an oldie...

There are genres other than rock and classical? I never noticed.
