I think the formula puzzle was really hard and drove me nuts.
The fresco and compare the two paintings were hard but as long as not extensive math and no musical puzzles I will get through it most of the time.
My real dislike of the game was the characters weaving to and fro. I know they wanted to make them lifelike but looked like they were high or loaded.
What might have been neat is down in the crypt, have our hero take that shot of the corpse and immediately be transported to the past.
So, bottom line I liked the game and would play another one.

But then again I'm that strange kind of person who doesn't play games because they look pretty.
2. Too MANY dialogues! Oh my gosh, I like dialogues but not like an entire game of it! What d'you expect from a mystery game? Of course there's an awful lot of talking.
3. HARD puzzles...dang and I thought Le Serpent Rouge from Gabriel Knight 3 was hard...at least Grace give hints! Hard is relative. With the exception of the suspect portrait reconstruction puzzle I found that the puzzles required some patience but no massive leaps of logic. All the hints were there in plain sight. The fact that there are multiple solutions to many puzzles makes the game easier too.
7. Length....IT'S SOOOOO short. I spent two days to finish it! Well I did cosult the walkthrough about 4-5 times on the puzzles though. I finished it in less than two days without a walkthrough. I agree that the game is entirely too short. That's my biggest complaint.
Final words: Look at GK3, now that's a real adventure game...you find fingerprints, spy on people, tape-record others' conversation, even drive a Harley. Umm... that's a bit of a silly comparison considering that Post Mortem takes place in the 1920s. No Harleys, no tape recorders and probably no fingerprints either.
My rating: B+ Mine is about A- (for comparison GK3 would be A+ and Syberia B-).

4. Ending....At least this was a shocker! Well done though.
I didnt like it. Maybe cuase it was a dissapointment(when Berenice gave the head to that lady). But I think it's a false head. And the other reason I didnt liked the ending cause I got killed. So I had to go over it once again. >

I am one of the people who absolutely loved Syberia and can't wait for the sequel.
You know, the game is priced very competitively, but I don't think it's a budget title. That game looks really high end to me.

I mean GK3 is a lot of talking too, but I didn't get the feeling that that's what I do 90% of the time. In fact I think that's what makes Post Mortem seems so short... just a lot of dialogues with relatively fewer puzzles

Yea it was a bit annoying too
>>Aren't there any hot keys to end it fast?
Apparently mouse right click and ESC keys didn't skip the dialogues for me.

I liked both, but I think both can be developed even more. Syberia for its length, post mortem for its length, graphics, and amount of puzzles
Well, finally, it still hits me (Maybe I missed some details in the game). SPOILER:
After the Johnsons got the head, how did it end up to be in Hulot's hands...I don't think I got that at all. And the black dye in the Whyte's bathroom...what's the explanation?

I really didn't feel like it was mostly talk.
Apparently mouse right click and ESC keys didn't skip the dialogues for me. Same problem here. Extremely annoying. As annoying as the endless walking around in Syberia.
I liked both, but I think both can be developed even more. That's for sure.
Syberia for its length, post mortem for its length, graphics, and amount of puzzles Interesting. Syberia took me less time to finish than Post Mortem. Maybe it's just because the puzzles in Syberia were so easy.
After the Johnsons got the head, how did it end up to be in Hulot's hands...I don't think I got that at all. And the black dye in the Whyte's bathroom...what's the explanation? Faye Johnson was dyeing her hair? As for the head... how about this: the Johnsons stole the head for Blake but they came to the hotel with Hulot. Maybe they paid Hulot to have a copy of the head made. They were con artists after all, maybe they wanted to give the fake head to Blake and keep the real one. Or does anyone have a better explanation?

Status : Online | How long is the game compared to Syberia? (In hours) I finished Syberia in 15 hours or so, without consulting a walkthough. ???

Status : Online | I'd say that Post Mortem is shorter but the puzzles are very considerably tougher. So the overall play time is similar, give or take couple hours. I think Syberia took me 10 or 11 hours. Post Mortem took me 14 or so.
I should also mention that there are lots of possible paths through Post Mortem so it may make sense to replay the game and try different solutions to the problems.
