Too late. The wait every time you use a lift refers to the fact that riding in an elevator triggers a cutscene which is approximately two minutes long. In Andrew Plotkin's review (http://www.eblong.com/zarf/gamerev/stitanic.html)he mentions bringing a book specifically for reading during the elevator rides. He also mentions being able to get up and get a snack from the fridge before the ride was over. The interface was terrible, and the parser was worse than in 1980's games, and the puzzles were a nonsensical, poorly clued mess. Oh, and the robots aren't very funny even when you can get them to respond to what you typed. And Romnut is a she. But other than that, I agree with your estimation of Starship Titanic. Greatest game ever. : :-X

Its boring, there isn't any action at all. You walk around picking up things and using them with other items. You walk around and use the item on something. Walking around and talking to people is really lame, what about some shooting or something~APuddleduck&&

That was from top of the well, to the bottom of the well, which is the farthest you can go.

For one puzzle, you have to get the BellBot to unscrew a broken lamp. It will only accept one possible syntax for this sentence. If the parser won't allow you to construct simple sentences in more than one way, then it's ridiculous to try to carry out realistic conversations with it. Ruins any sense of immersion you might have had. Might as well just go with the dialogue trees.

Tickling the nose of the succubus, setting the weather to spring to make the light fixture sneeze, the greasy chicken, the poke with long stick button. Other times I knew what I wanted the game to do and couldn't make it happen. The entire game was like that.

I will have to load it up and se what's on it.

But it did work for a great deal in other conversations though.

Originally Posted By Fickfack (9 MAY 2004 9:21pm) Setting the weather to spring to make the light fixture sneeze Aye, I'll give you that though... it was a bit strange. Might've been the clue that you saw some -English word, things flowers spread- coming from the flowers. Wasn't too obvious, rather a you-see-the-Parrot-in-spring-at-some-time thing.
Originally Posted By Fickfack (9 MAY 2004 9:21pm) The greasy chicken Are you referring to the puzzle how to transparot the chicken through the succ-u-bus system? That was so logical - succ-u-bus doesn't like sauces.
Originally Posted By Fickfack (9 MAY 2004 9:21pm) the poke with long stick button Oh right, if it says something concerning 'long stick' another type of stick wouldn't work.

Oh, here is somebody who did like the game (since you threw a review at me): http://www.avault.com/reviews/review_temp.asp?game=sst&page=1

Oh yeah. And those New Zealand Keas eat sheep.

Status : Online | There's a parrot in the old IF game Pirate Adventure. Odd that, finding a parrot in a pirate-related game. Anyway, it must be one vicious parrot considering how it's used in the game.
First adventure game I ever finished, way back in the day (a couple of decades ago). Ah, the memories.
