| Deleted User | That's stupid. You'd think they could at least check the CDs before they ship them. At least my copy had all of the CDs. Incidentally, you can't write Presto because they closed last year.

| Deleted User | Yeah it's really crap. Similar thing happened to me a while ago. I bought the PS1 game Koudelka and Disk 1 was from the French version... well my French is very rusty so I couldn't play that. Unfortunately the shop had closed down so I called their chain and they said me its under new management and they don't give a guarantee and they won't swap my disks. So I called the game publisher and they said me that the game is sold out and they couldn't exchange the one wrong disk.
So in the end I downloaded disk 1 from the internet and burned it (disk 2 and 3 had the correct language). And I would advise Andromus to do the same because nobody can force me to buy a game twice just because a disk is broken or wrong!!!

Even if Presto still were in business getting a replacement CD from them might have been a problem. In at least one case, the replacement CD requested by a customer just turned out to be the mislabelled copy of CD 3 again!

Yep, that's what my CD 2 was labelled as. Sounds like you've got the same problem.

Randdom, what Future Shop do you go to? I have never seen anything there that interested me in the slightest. I bought a used copy of the trilogy for six times what he paid. >

That is not illegal at all as long as you have the original disk and you don't sell it of give it to any one.

| Deleted User | My god, I wonder if I will have the same problem.
I purchased the Trilogy of JP a few years ago at a local software shop, off the shelf, and played JP3 as the first game. It worked fine. I love it. I purchased on ebay the DVD release of JP3.
Yes, the company is out of business. They were a San Diego based company. Presto, or something like it. They also did Myst Exile. It has shut down and closed its doors.
I haven't played JP 1 or 2. Well actually, I tried to play JP2, and didn't find it as compelling as JP3. Well, I did load the other games, 1 and 2, and neither were JP3.
Sometimes, in auctions you get things the seller didn't intend. Can you return it?

Some sellers will graciously accept your returned item and give a refund if you are unhappy. Some just say [usually in their auction terms], "Screw it. I make no promises and what you get is what you get. Buy at your own risk."
You would have to talk this over with the seller. :-/

Well, I did have the game for a long, long time before I tried to play it. And it did come still wrapped in the box as new, unopened. I really can't blame the seller this time. It's all Presto's fault, I'm afraid.

Yes, I saw your 'not yet played yet owned list'………I hope all those unplayed games don't fade from age off their cd's before you get around to them. (just kidding)
Seriously though, I just checked my copy of the JP Trilogy that I, like you, purchased several years ago. I just checked cd 3 for JP2. It has the file "Bit_disc.3" I KB, dated 6/22/65 as 12:00 am. Then there are hidden folders for "Mayan, Castle, Davinci, Common, Title".
Gee, is sounds interesting. This is on my Uninstalled list ( thought I think I forgot to include it in my post on the other thread).
ps - Presto was located about 15 miles up the Pacific coast here in sunny So Cal. Pity they disbanded. Sorry about your duplicate cd2.
