Do you mean a triptych as in a three panel piece of art?

Cool green creature!

Still adventuring after all these years!

Patiently awaiting The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle, and Bracken Tor...

... and Asylum if it's not tooooo scary...

Geez Monkeybone,

Your drawings, sketches, whatever you call them always amaze me and again very nice one

Deleted UserYour drawing is excellent, but I have a question.  Is this a character that transmutates from a human-like state?  If not, then perhaps he shouldn't have the ribs, breast and belly button, and should have a more reptilian shape through the middle.  Sorry to seem critical, because it is very well done, and I don't want to discourage you.

Ahh yes.  But alien reptiles sometimes have navels you know.  Especially those type that get brought here as kiddies' pets on alien spaceships and run out the airlock and get left behind.....

Deleted UserCheers, FGM (tnx others!), but I was deliberately going for the old "Japanese Monster" man-in-suit look, rather than anything too reptilian.

The design is just a part of it. You may notice that the base of the monster is within a square (ratio 4:3) which represents a storyboard, which is my job. Each picture is storyboards where the central character is projected outside of the box - in this case through its size.

Well, setting the technical stuff aside for a minute - why is the monster's tail in black and white?  budget cuts?

Deleted UserWell, it isn't finished at all, just the head. I'm going for a 3-D look. This is taking time - a days work yesterday!

I see.  Well I think the head is pretty clever - very like the Sydney Opera House in fact.

Deleted UserLooking good, Dude, looking good.

Please keep refreshing this artwork as you progress man.

BTW: what took you a whole day yesterday will take you a half tomorrow.

Great man.

Deleted UserCheers monkey! Or should I say... funky?
Cheers for the cheer up, but it's time for a new Avatar gor you methinks!

BTW should have this finished soon. Haven't had the chance to work on it today.

The idea is there will be 3 drawings in different styles. One is Monkeydude (new version), using Illustrator, getting stung on the bum after pinching honey, there's this one which is more rendered in Corel Painter, and then a last one in Illustrator and Photoshop of a more manga-like girl kicking the side out of the storyboard she's in.

Storyboarding is the central theme.

edit - and one day, a 3D model too.

It's good I'm doing this as I noticed something I didn't like at all in the above.

Monkeydear

I really like your dragon man.  I love the colouring and the scaling.  Please tell me how you draw - not with a mouse surely?
o you have a touch sensitive page?  I've never seen this done and I'm terribly impressed.

Deleted UserPlease, feed my ego. I may have a new job as of tomorrow too, YEAH!
Seriously, tnx. Feel free to criticize tho'. My work is built on criticism...

@Caroline - I always start with roughs on pencil, then work in a blue Col-erase pencil to a happy design. I then do a cleanup in blue and go over it once more in an HB or 2B depending on the style.

After that, it's scanned on the computer. This was painted digitally with a program using a tablet, which used layers above the original drawing (one for shading, one for base coat etc.) with a fake airbrush and computer-"masks" (like digital sticky tape to stop you going over lines).

I usually use Photoshop and Illustrator, yet I'm experimenting with Painter at the mo'. Monkeydude is an Illustrator sketch.
