Ok, here's my problem. When I run the game, the designer logos come up just fine, followed by the menu. Everything seems functional except for the one thing I really need. "New Game". I click on New Game, and am taken to the "Loading Game" screen (with the Skull & Swords graphic). This is where the game freezes. After a few minutes, I see no activity whatsoever. Ctrl-alt-del reveals the game is Not Responding. I know for a fact that I meet and exceed the Minimum System Requirements, but nothing is happening. The game simply *will not* load. I'm running Win XP on a 1.5 Ghz processor machine.

Can anyone please halp me?
Thanks.

Deleted UserHave you downloaded and installed the newest patches for the game? Do you have the newest driver for your video card installed and also the newest Direct X drivers?

Yes. Leastwise, my video card is all updated. There's no patch out for the game.

Ooh, BTW, just in case no one got the abbreviation, the game in question is Pirates of the Caribbean by Bethesda Softworks.

Deleted UserDo you have any software installed like virus scanners that run in the background? Maybe try and press strg/alt/del and close all unnecessary tasks and programms before starting the game.
Do you have a virtual CD-ROM drive on your hdd? In that case many games won't run because of their copyprotection.

I agree about the virtual drives. Some games won't run with them, yet they often don't mention that anywhere.

With regards to closing things using ctrl/alt/del, I really don't recommend that, especially anti-virus software.
Try closing/de-activating the normal way instead. Only use ctrl/alt/del as a last resort.
