EcoQuest is TRUELY a classic. Two bad puzzles but the writing of Jane Jenson truely brought it to life.
ANd GK2 is my favorite Sierra adventure so far.

Status : Online | I'd still rather play an old Sierra game than most modern games. And I never actually played any of the GK games and can't comment on how they compare.
KQ2 was admittedly lame, it lacked the originality of the, er, original, and the plot didn't make much sense, and random elements were all thrown together. The Tierra version is a much better game, even discounting the graphical improvements. But I love 3,4,5 (* sort of), and 6, and 1 gets a special place in my heart for being the beginning - it's a classic by any definition *I'd* usually use.
SQ2, when I finally got a hold of it, seemed *awfully* short. This was years and years and years after it came out, but is there agreement on this? 3 was fun, 4 would be such a wonderful game if the action bits (the opening, the mall) didn't wreck my chances of playing it through again and enjoying it...
LSL - 1 a classic? C'mon, it's just SoftPorn with graphics. I quite *liked* LSL2. The wacky over-adventurous plot appealed to me. Who needs Codename Iceman when you've got *this* spy story? To me, it's the best -game- of the series, even if it may fail on the babe factor in some people's eyes. (Man, now I wish I had my copy to play again!)
(* When it comes to games I'd like to go back and play again, 5 is low on the list. Not sure why, really. There was nothing horribly bad about the game. It was all very exciting at the time, seeing those shiny new colors. Maybe Graham was just too old for me to identify with, or maybe I was still bitter about the switch away from the parser. I *liked* the text parser, thank you.)

All his friends are into it and there are video game parlors here that have servers where the kids all come and battle it out with each other on high speed connections.

Which of the adventure games made by the old Sierra company do you consider to be the "classic" ones?
It wouldn't all fit in the subject line.

The two Sierra games that really got me hooked on adventures were Rama (read all three novels), and Lighthouse - The Dark Being.
When Lighthouse first came out it was thought to be so difficult Sierra released a patch to make the game easier. It would probably be considered easy by today's gaming standards.

Yes Jenny, I understood the question and gave you the the answer. Of all Sierra games, they will be remembered as the distributor of Counter Strike. It is a classic before your mind.

It's a "new" Sierra company" game.
I'm not arguing with you about whether it's a classic game or not.

Space Quest 1 (first humor title, a classic) Space Quest 3 (you simply have to have played this) Space Quest 4 (an original and incredibly funny story)
Police Quest 1 (a totally different approach to adventure gaming)
Leisure Suit Larry 1 (comments unnessecary) Leisure Suit Larry 4 (the non-game you must have played)
Quest for Glory 1 (a cross-genre classic) Quest for Glory 2 (simply an excellent game)
Eco Quest 1 (a children's game for everyone)
Gabriel Knight 1 (storytelling galore) Gabriel Knight 2 (it even made FMV work)
Very good choices, but I would add these games:
Leisure Suit Larry 7 (it SHOULD have revolutionized the interface for adventure games)
Quest for Glory 4 (a very complex game with great voice acting which unfortunately also set new standards for bug-infestedness)
Gabriel Knight 3 (first full 3D adventure that really worked, of course you can argue about this)
(is the last one still considered "old Sierra"?)
