Correct on 3 and 4. The positioning was purely coincidental.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

It's a promotional sticker that says "Includes the hit single..."
I scanned that one a long time ago to use with my mp3 player. The sticker didn't cover anything significant and I didn't want to ruin the cover by trying to remove it.

I've never seen one of these album covers.
However, play me some samples of the songs and I'll sweep the rest of you under the rug!

Yeah, I should've made it a little easier, but I saw how quickly everyone guessed the covers in the other quizzes and I thought this one might go the same way with all the experts here.
I suppose I'll just go ahead and post the answers and congratulate BacardiJim for getting three of 'em.

What the heck. It might be the only enjoyment anyone gets from this quiz.
It's easy enough to do since all the tunes are already on my hard drive.
I'll post the audio links up in the main post.

The first song sounds like Heart but that wouldn't be a one hit wonder and the last sounds like Sammy Hagar but that wouldn't be obscure either. This is what I get for opening my big mouth! :

Of course, that's probably because it's so warm and cozy under this rug under which Val swept me.

Status : Online | Judging by the other cover quizzes, you guys definitely know your Classic Rock. #6 and #10 fit that category, and are still played on rock radio stations today.
#1 and #5 are both from the "hair metal" scene of the mid to late 80's - much like #4 (Autograph).
#8 peaked at number two on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1990.
#9, #11 and #12 are early 80's and the only ones that might be considered obscure. The #11 band was much more popular in Australia and Tina Turner covered on the of the songs on that album (not the song posted).

#9 doesn't let me go...I heard this one, I'm sure!
#1 is Vixen - Vixen Edge of a broken heart. Hey, you changed the cover.
