"As J.K.Rowling's alter ego Hermione Granger once suggested, legends have a basis in fact."
hmmmmmmm...
Resistance is not futile, we're gonna win this thing, humankind is too good, we're not a bunch of under-achievers! We're gonna stand up, and we're gonna be human beings. We're going to get fired up about the real things, the things that matter! Creativity, and the dynamic human spirit that refuses to submit.

My number one choice of dragon film is the 80s animated "Flight of Dragons" - if you've never had the good fortune to see it (and it is well worth seeing) it goes some way to explaining how dragons could have existed according to scientific fact (for example how they could have flown, how they could produce fire etc.). It's pretty convincing!
Aside from that it's just a very cool animated film.

Cute movie was Pete's Dragon. I used to love those mushy romantic Disney movies. That is before I grew up and realised that no one - ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, ever lived lives like the Waltons or Little House on the Prairie. :'(

And I LOVE the chronicles of Pern! I have all those books! I've only read the first 5 or 6 though.

| Deleted User | Talking about dragons and novels and J.K. Rowling etc, did you see that guy who was on Letterman a few weeks back? His fantasy novel, Eragon, where dragons play a central role and that he began writing at the age of 15, is currently knocking down even Rowling from the bestseller lists. And the guy's only 19 yet! Has anyone here heard of it and possibly even read it? Is it worth picking up?

| Deleted User | Yeah, he seemed like a really clever guy. And totally into knights and stuff. He'd bought a viking sword replica or something that cost a fortune for some of the money he's made... And Letterman had him tell the story of how he went to high-schools to talk about his book, dressed in a knight's outfit. Brave guy!
Nice with have parents that believes in their kids that much also. They have believed in him and helped him along the way all the time, since he was a bit on the young side to take care of publishing deals and whatever himself...
