Strategy games tend to have a steep learning curve (especially turn based ones) but the gameplay is often somewhat repetitive. I like both adventure games and strategy games myself, but they are certainly very different beasts.
I forgot my sig.

Deleted UserAndromus neatly proved my point. If adventures incorporate strategy or turn-based combat elements, neither he nor his friend will be happy. What an innovation!

I don't think its fair to expect adventurers to like any other genre as long as they have researched or tried other genre games and really don't like them.

It's just that really - alot of adventures are mediocre lately. I am trying to finish JTTCOTE but Fire Emblem on my GBA keeps pulling me away. Its compelling, with character development, great story and turn based RPG strategy that has no sense of urgency at all.
The Sims and Harvest Moon have no sense of urgency either - you can't fail.

I just found that my choices were very limited for PC and have found a small Nirvana on GBA.

Also - let me just say that when I posted about ideas for hand held adventures, the only follow-on posts were about Pocket Scumm (which is very cool) but again - adventurers seem a bit stuck in the past where they want to keep replaying the old Lucasarts adventures.

I just ask that folks go read about some new stuff and decide if it may be for them.
