One of the weirder adventures I played was "Hell". A very odd game. Didn't make a whole lot of sense.

"Gender Wars" (not an adventure) was so wacky that I didn't really get past the first mission - in that game you play for men and need to kill all women and perhaps you could also choose to play for ladies and eradicate guys.
I forgot my sig.

Well, there was this time when my girlfriend drove off and left me on foot just outside Santa Fe but you're probably referring to computer games...

Dark Eye is an odd game. And the first part of Obsidian is different. Seven Games of the Soul and Mirage are both unusual.

Deleted UserThat must have been Viracocha (sp.?) aka Inca II.
I don't know about Inca I, but this was one weird game.
It is about this Inca Empire and the great Inca is helped by some WW1 German pilot to fight against  an alien empire that wants to take over. For this reason they travel to Australia and get aboard a train which is attacked by these flying saucers. Afterwards they fly a spacecraft in the direction of the alien base, or mothership. I don't know because you had to shoot allien saucers on the way and I got lost in space.
It's a mixture of adventure and arcade-gaming. That's why I gave up at a this point.
I have a feeling that the writers of the game had a much better time than I had. It is extremely funny though.

The others are not adventure games.

Treasure Quest featured a $1,000,000 prize for the first person to unscramble quotations hidden throughout the game. However, the game was a jumble of pictures, sound clips, and videos that made little sense (at least to just about everyone except the person who solved it, I suppose).

Sennebec,

From what little I've played of Mirage so far, it is a fever dream set in a desert. Very surreal, Myst meets 3 Skulls of the Toltecs meet Fellini. Mid-90's, Macromedia, pc/mac hybrid.  If you like odd adventure games this is the one for you.

Also I forgot to add Blue Ice. Haven't played it yet but reports from the front are that it is deeply weird.  It too had a million dollar prize for whoever "beat" it. Thing was after you completed the regular game a second game appears or so I hear. That, apparently, was the game you had to beat. Haven't heard of anyone who ever did either. Someone might have by now but the prize went unclaimed.

Loom was very unusual, with a one-of-a-kind interface that we never saw again.

Do you like classic adventure games? Check out Diamonds in the Rough!

Unusual games, eh?
They named a few I think are pretty unusual like The Dark Eye and Blue Ice. Mirage sounds very interesting also.
One very, very unusual game is Bad Day On The Midway. Bizarre stuff. You get to "posses" these characters whom have little dirty secrets in a weird carnival. Not for every taste.
Another one is Out Of This World (aka. Another World). Everything from the gameplay to the visual style is unique. Very recommended though it's probably one of the most difficult games ever.

Of Light and Darkness was unusual to me. May seem mainstream to many here, but it has all these references to sins, some of them humorous. The apocalyptic predictions are probably standard fare for these types of adventures. But it's the preocuppation with classifying sins and the nature of sins that struck me as quite different. And the game has colorful graphics

Let's not forget the oddity that is Welcome to the Future.  Was it a game or a promo for a band that disbanded before WTTF hit the bargain bins?  Once one was done collecting a few odd symbols on a misty hilltop (Malibu, IIRC), the rest of the game consisted of wandering an underground maze.  Yum.

A much better unusual game is Bad Mojo.  Third person keyboard control of a cockroach.  Superb sound design and an affecting story.  Great stuff.

Bad Mojo is a classic. Awesome and very original game.

A review that Stooge posted reminded of how unique The Last Express was. Style and gameplay never seen before (or since). Gameplay wasn't that good but it was quite unusual.

I haven't played it yet, but I launched MTV's Club Dead this morning just to see if I could get it run on XP.  It was, by far, the weirdest thing I've seen yet.

Yes, it was named Another World in Europe and Out Of This World in the US.

With or without sex, the storyline is too weird!

Yes, that one is a great game. I could never figure out how they could fit it on a single floppy with the intro and all the animations. And it ran on a 286!

The game would have been a lot easier if you could save at any time. The console-style "saves" can be annoying. I replayed this game about three months ago and it did take me a while, but it was fun.

Hmm, I think I'm interested

I dunno. I always thought Delphine was a very underrated company.

Yeah, check it out whenever you can. I thing someone at JA might have it since it was reviewed.

I guess so. Which adventures did they release? Another World wasn't much of an adventure game but  Cruise for a Corpse and Future Wars certainly were. What other adventures did they make?

James Bond: Operation Stealth (aka. The Stealth Affair), Flashback and Fade To Black. All of them great games.

Never heard of the Bond game. I've seen Flashback and FTB although again they weren't adventures. Is The Stealth Affair an adventure?
