Status : Online | You aren't alone. When I finished Conspiracies I found the other games I had loaded just didn't have what I was looking for, even BS3.
Same happened after Max Payne II but think that if I ever get Deus Ex II to run right (what I am doing right now), that will get me going again.
Why don't you play maybe an hour of each and perhaps one will hook you. You have named three good games.

I haven't even seen Conspiracies for sale here in Australia.....  eus2 is supposed to be here in 2004, I looked at the first one when I saw it on a secondhand site ........ didn't buy it. Is is a good game? RPG?

Status : Online | Deus Ex is a action or a shooter and right now I feel like throwing Deus Ex II out of the window. Have spent the last hours tweeking my graphic and sound cards because it won't play certain ATI drivers and it still won't load the first map.
The read me file is over ten pages long. Really wanted to play this game. Well, maybe will work on it a little more and then will be that for tonight. Also, if you have 2000 or XP (I don't) there is more tweaking to do.
Deus Ex (the first one) is a classic and if you like action/shooters you should definitely get it.
No, nothing to do with the holidays. If I have played a great game for me then others seem boring but sooner or later another great one will come along.
I liked Black Mirror very much and you might like it enough to play it through. Actually, I should play it now, am in a dark mood already and at least I know it will run.
Well, back to tweeking.

Interesting.....I just installed and ran Black Mirror yesterday to make sure it runs OK, but haven't started it yet either. Dark Fall is next on the pile, maybe I'll start that as well. But yes, sometimes I have to be in a certain mood to start a game -- RPG's come to mind in particular because of the time investment required to do any serious playing, but I find myself doing that with adventures as well.

Mysterious Journey 2 looks nice. I've never played Schizm. I think I give it a try (MJ2 I mean).

Status : Offline | This is the beginning of the last actual week of the semester. Next week is Finals week and for the first time in my collegiate career I have NO TESTS during finals week. Although I do have two things due next Monday. Of course, having nothing during Finals week means that everything else (besides the items due next Monday) has to be taken care of/finished/dealt with THIS WEEK. So I'm playing nothing. I was replaying Post Mortem for a couple days last week to try out some different paths, but had to put a halt on that.
But starting at 12:01am Tuesday, December 16, here's what I have lined up: - Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel (just got it today for my b-day) - Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion - Nancy Drew: Treasure in the Royal Tower - The Blackstone Chronicles - Pandora's Box (as soon as the mailman delivers it) - Expansion Packs for The Sims (Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, and Vacation)
I can't wait for school to end!
How is it possible for someone to play a game and browse the boards at the same time unless they have two computers running? :
I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.

Another game I'm eager to get into and that is at the top of my to play list, is the Last Express. I haven't even bought The Black Mirror or Broken Sword 3 yet. Especially Broken Sword 3 will just laugh at my computer as I would try to install it. Not meeting minimum requirements must be the understatement of the century.

Status : Online | Good question.
It's interesting that, after months without playing an adventure game (the last one before the break probably being Post Mortem), I suddenly have too many going to keep up. Now's a good time to be an adventure gamer.
I'm currently playing:
- In Memoriam: (http://www.inmemoriam-thegame.com/gb/). It's apparently not out in the US yet, according to gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/puzzle/inmemoriam/index.html. A very strange and gripping game. It could be summed up as a mix of trite flash puzzles, really gripping analysis puzzles, web searching, a creepy story and a blurring of reality and fiction. It's a bit like Blair Witch Project meets Seven in Adventure Gaming Land. I like it.
- Uru: The latest Myst offering (I only played Myst completely and part of Riven and not Exile. I'm no Myst expert). Already discussed around here. A surprising interface and a strange new direction for puzzles. What I've seen so far has been very atmospheric and fun to solve. But I haven't reached the reputedly most annoying puzzle of the game. Also, the online feature is intriguing. Wish Cyan and Ubi would let me connect to it. :-/
- Conspiracies (http://www.anima-ppd.com/): I had high hopes for that Tex Murphy like adventure but, so far, it's failed to really hook me. I've met a few characters, watched low resolution videos, pixel hunted a few things but I find the game quite hard going. And it doesn't manage to keep me engrossed. In the crime solving category, this doesn't hold a candle to In Memoriam (so far), even though the latter is more basic in some aspects (although not graphically).
- Broken Sword 3: No need to present that one I believe. Fun and nicely done (although displaying an obsession about crates). Also, it's on the opposite side of the difficulty scale, compared to Conspiracies.
I've also got: The WatchMaker and CSI Investigation on my "to be played" stack. Finally, if I manage to get my hands on Black Mirror in europe, I might be tempted to give it a go. So many games...

But I'm really enjoying GK2, it will probably land up in my top ten list. I've encountered a glitch with Chaos, so it's on hold until I can get it up and running again. It's a fun little game with humor reminescent of Zork Grand Inquisitor. I'm glad I hunted this one down; it was hard to find. Uru is taking me a while to get into. So far I've managed to get around with only mouse control. But there is a learning curve even with the mouse, and I'm still getting used to it.

@ Marlys - Yes, sometimes I'm in the mood for a type of AG that I don't have. Right now I really want a 1st person exploration adventure. Schizm 2 is in the mail!
Just recently finished The Black Mirror. Really enjoyed it and would like more from these folks. Very gripping story.
Replaying Discworld Noir with a friend.
Partway through Journey to the Center of the Earth. It's enjoyable but I am getting tired of a steady diet of 3rd person games. I had stopped to finish The Black Mirror.
Partway through URU. Playing in 1st person mode as much as I can. Enjoyng the beautiful scenery and special effects. But, as Shadow35 commented - 3rd person mode - "what were they thinking"? ! 3rd person is okay, but combined with precision walking across narrow bridges and leaping challenges.... Not my idea of the most fun time.
Eagerly awaiting Schizm 2: Chameleon. Will load it and play as soon as it arrives.
Also awaiting by mail - The Adventures of Fatman.
Still adventuring after all these years!
Patiently awaiting The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle, and Bracken Tor...
... and Asylum if it's not tooooo scary...

Next, I have either Riddle of the Sphinx, Dark Fall, or Mystery of the Nautilus. I will likely play them in that order. Ah, the fun that lies ahead. Especially in Mystery of the Nautilus.

My wife and I are currently working our way through: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds, The Hobbit, and Salammbo.

Are you sure you wouldn't prefer to start with ROTS or Dark Fall. Most reviews of Nautilus have not been good which is why it sits on my shelf while other games get picked before it.

The future ain't what it used to be!

[Rant] Sir Dave is right. Dont start with Mystery of the Nautilus, better yet, don't ever start it. Riddle of the Sphinx was much, much better. I try to be positive about the adventures I play and find something enjoyable about nearly all of them, but Mystery of the Nautilus just rubbed me the wrong way. Lousy ending, terrible pixel hunting, illogical puzzles and some really annoying time sequences left me shaking my head and wondering why I even bothered with it.
No, wait, there was one thing I did like -- the design of the Nautilus. Not the graphic quality, but the Nautilus' design was very stylish and unique. That's about it, though.
[/Rant]

Oh, I'm going to start with ROTS and Dark Fall. I've heard interesting things about Mystery of the Nautilus. : I tend to save games like that until I don't have anything better to play.
