Deleted UserThe new JA Forum started on Friday.  This is Monday at almost 4PM ET, USA.  We have 205 members already.  Like I said, exciting.

Some of our old members are back and happy to be here.  And we are gathering new members almost every hour.

I am watching chat-relationships being developed through discussions of interesting ideas and questions.

Tell your friends to drop by and spend a while.  They will be in good company.

Harriet

These forums are fun. I like the forum software and I like the subject matter. I've rarely posted so much on a single day

agree with jonas, the forum software is pretty... nifty.  i would have a few feature requests regarding navigation, but for the most part, it's great.

good to be here

I just happened on when this forum was getting up and running again.

I like it.  Very comfortable and everyone seems okay.  I only go to one other forum (not enough time in the day).

Am just surprised that there aren't any questions under Hints, etc. exept mine from the other day.

I must be in with a lot of people who know the ins and outs of the games.

Clockwise, give it more time.  I'm sure many of the old members will be back along with many new members.  It will probably be even better than before.

You claim to have 205 members, but 100 of those are just my alternate aliases so I have a better chance of winning that Syberia Contest

Deleted UserHello Harriet

Janelle from Oz here.  Never tried a Games Forum before ........ however "JustAdventure" has been on my list to peruse for a while.

As an oldie, everyone thinks I am crazy buying games ..... and they cost $49.95 in Oz ($US19.95 version as advertised on EB) so not exactly a cheap "hobby" .... to ME, playing Adventure games is an escape ...... better than watching movies or TV - you need more brains to play a game to the END LOL

I bet I am the oldest Gamer here! LOL

Hello Janelle,

I am happy that you selected the JA Forum as your first excursion into adventure game discussions.  Welcome!!!

I agree that games can be an expensive hobby.  But when compared to many other interests they are generally a bargain.  Buying music and books is very costly.  I find that most of the good and fun things in life can drain one's finances.  You just need to be extra careful about what you decide to play.  My suggestion there is to read all of the reviews that you can find before you make the plunge with your dollars.  Games also tend to come down in price after they have been on the market for a while.  That is often a BIG help.  To be perfectly honest with you, I rarely buy a brand new game.  I like to wait until the bugs are eliminated - if there are any.  Nothing is quite so frustrating as buying the new game of your heart's delight and then not being able to play it.  And no patches available - until later.  Humbug!!!

As far as being the oldest member here - that is probably debatable.  But getting older is often getting better.  I wouldn't want to go back and do it all over again - that's for sure!!

However, I adore my very grown up sons but I do miss the little boys they were - nostalgia...

One person is missing.  And I don't think that she is coming back.  That makes me very sad.

Do you know who?
